Yes on Prop 8

I have officially voted! Yay! So I just wanted everyone to know where I stand on Proposition 8, which would change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry and that only a marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California. I have indeed voted YES on this Prop. I have nothing against those who choose to lead the same-sex lifestyle and I do have friends who choose to live this way, but it is important to me that I live in a state that shares my values and standards regarding marriage. I just learned recently of an incident where a man was arrested in Massachussetts for wanting to know ahead of time what his child was to be learning in school. This child brought home a book called "Diversity" which sounds like a book about the different ethnicities right? Wrong. This book promoted homosexuality and that it was ok to be heterosexual or homosexual if you choose. This child was in Elementary School! When his parents found the book, they went to the school and asked that the school inform them of what they are teaching their child so that the parents can choose whether to allow the child to go to school that day or not. Instead of talking things out and reasoning with the parents, they threw the father in jail. That is terrible! I do not want to have to worry about going through that same situation in California when I have kids the same age as this child. I feel that it is my right as a future parent, to be able to teach my children what values and standards they should uphold. It is the same thing as teaching your children about religion. Public schools are not allowed to teach religion, so whay should they be allowed to teach about homosexuality? The fact is, they shouldn't. And that is why we need to vote Yes on Prop 8 so we do not have to worry about what reprocussions may come in the future.

On November 3rd, the member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is asking the nation to fast for Prop 8 at 10:00 am for 24 hours. So I ask everyone who reads this and is willing, to please fast for this Proposition and pray that it gets passed in California so that we may sent the standards for other state who are still allowing same-sex marriage. Thank you everyone! I love you all!! :)

Hi Natalie, hope things are going well. I just wanted you to know that though that Massachusetts trial did happen, it is not possible for it to happen in California because there is a law that states that parents, if they do not believe in a subject that will be taught to their children in school, are allowed to take their child out of school for that day to teach them what they believe is morally correct. Though I do not believe that California teachers will start changing their lesson plans too much if prop 8 does not pass, if this does happens, it is California citizens right to know what is being taught to their children and it is their right to teach their children their own set of morals instead of the schools or teachers.

I know you have already voted and I can't change your mind but I love friendly debate and I thought you might find these facts interesting.

Again, hope everything in your life is going beautifully.

I completely agree with Jiggs. haha I was actually going to right you a comment saying the exact same thing! I to love a good debate. ;) Sorry you voted yes for prop 8. What a bummer. :/ I guess I feel like if you have friends that are gay and you say you support their lifestyle because they are your friends and blah blah blah.. by choosing to vote yes on prop 8 you are completely contradicting yourself. It's like a kick in the face to your friends. lol Anyway, I love ya lady! and also hope everything is well with you. :) xo

i voted yes on prop 2! florida's version of prop 8. people can live however they want but just because they want something doesn't mean we have to change laws to appease them.

it's like if i robbed a bank, illegal, and then complained that my civil rights are being violated when i go to jail, just because i dont agree with the laws that have been in place for thousands of years and want to do what i want. doesnt make much sense now does it? i think the fact that a man and man, or woman and woman cannot create a child says enough. yet letting them marry will allow them to adopt and raise children in an unnatural environment.

also your friend used incorrect grammar. its write, not right.
