Max's First Haircut

Max received his first haircut last week and I think it was more torturous for him than the doctor's office. Poor kid. I forgot to take before photos, so I picked some of the best photos that showed off his hair. It doesn't look any different at all on the tops and the sides, only the back. I would've liked to have kept it growing, but Max's hair is very brittle and would easily get very nappy in the back. He was developing curls too and now they are gone :(

These were taken at a Christmas party at his speech therapy office (more about that another time).

*And I figured I would post the rest of the photos from the party :) Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
This was Max during the whole haircut. He refused to sit in one of the cool chairs they had (carousel horse, firetruck), so he had to sit on my lap. He was moving around like crazy, trying to get away from the lady and her scissors and the lady actually cut herself once because of him. I felt so bad!

Every once in a while for a short bit, Max would put his thumb in his mouth and calm down. He was playing with this truck while we were waiting and calmed down a bit more when Bryan gave it to him. Max held it up against his face to comfort himself, which was cute. Photobucket
Max especially freaked out when the hairstylist pulled out the razor to cut above his ears! This is where the evidence of his struggling really showed on his haircut. I didn't take pictures of that though. Bryan was crouching in front of Max to help distract him and Max would reach out to him, pleading for Bryan to save him. I wanted to cry. As soon as I put Max on the ground, he BOLTED into Bryan's arms. Hopefully we won't have to cut his hair often. We rewarded him with some Dairy Queen afterwards. The remaining pictures are me trying to show off his new cut and him running all over the apartment, being silly.

Merry Christmas to Us

We are heading down to California next week, so we decided to celebrate Christmas early enough that Max would be able to enjoy his new toys before leaving. A great Christmas it was too thanks to Bryan's parents :). Max woke up and walked straight to the lit up Christmas tree and started pointing at all the presents and grabbed one. It was so cute to see him be all interested in everything and I know next year will be even more great because hopefully by then he'll actually know what presents are. I don't think he managed to open any of them completely on his own though, but we'll work on that. I helped him rip the paper off his first gift and you can just see his face change when he saw that something was inside of it. (I think I chose way more pictures than I intended and this isn't even half of them...)
*The reason why there are almost no ornaments on the lower half of the tree is because Max has pulled them all off.

We got these color bath drops and the red makes it look like Max is bleeding out. It still kind of freaks me out.
