Free Days!

We were able to go to the zoo and aquarium on their free days back in October. Surprisingly, neither of them were crowded at all! We went to both of these with our friends Scott, Emily and Kylie Fletcher and Grandma Jones came to the zoo with us.. It's so fun to take Max to these kinds of places now since he can see everything and is way more interested in them than before. The zoo and aquarium are both pretty cool, but I don't think either of them are worth the price tag. We just have to keep our eyes open for the free days that pop up every once in a while.

Hogle Zoo
 Feeding time for the elephants.
Max and this gorilla became friends.
All of the drinking fountains were animal shaped.
 The Living Planet Aquarium
Life size Emperor Penguim! I had no idea they were so huge!
They have this huge South American section that us super hot and humid. They have everything from birds, to frogs, to an anaconda!

They also had this ginormous 6 foot long fish, that's supposed to grow to at least 9 feet.
Max loved the river stingrays that just kept swimming back and forth along the glass. Some were swimming opposite ways and when they would meet in the middle, one would just glide over the top of each other. A couple times, it seemed both stingrays wanted to be the one to go over, so they would get stuck until one was the winner.

Rainy Days

So, so behind!
It rained to hard one day that the streets were flooding. Max loved every bit of it!
The pants were still a little bit on him and kept falling down with the weight of the water!
He started sticking his head in the water...
Nice and warm, chilling with the Kindle.

September Birthdays - Maximus

Max had a bit more exciting of a birthday. He had a Paw Patrol Party and nickjr.com had everything you could possibly need for a great, themed birthday party!
I almost completely forgot about the poster I've been making for Max's birthday every year and had to go out to three different stores at 11pm the night before to find white poster board!
I left him one balloon not blown up because I thought he'd get a kick out of doing it himself. Success!
Grandpa and Abuela got Max a bike and helmet! He still has trouble steering, but he's getting really good at using the peddles by himself.
We went to a new park that we hadn't explored before.
So many awesome printables to make the party more fun!
Max's cupcakes, though he ended up eating three...He also insisted on the train candles.

Cousins! Ethan, Hannah, and Carter. Max loves them so so much!
I don't know why, but he went through a phase of removing his shoes at the park, which couldn't have felt good because of the bark they use to cover the ground!
He learned to swing like this from watching other kids.
It's exhausting turning 3!
Max is such a kind-hearted and loving little boy. He gives hugs, kisses, and cuddles freely. He loves hanging out with other kids, and absolutely adores all of his grandparents. He does have a tendency to push kids, but I know he doesn't do it to be mean, he just gets excited when he's around other kids and I think he just doesn't know how to express that excitement. We're working on it. Lately he's been interesting in babies and always points out when a baby's crying. He's obsessed with Paw Patrol and trains, the latter of which I don't think will ever go away. He's a momma's boy, but he very much loves his daddy too. Bryan and I love this little boy more than he could ever know!
