The Best 6 Years

I'm a lazy blogger. Even when I DO have something interesting that happened, it doesn't even occur to me to write about it.

Bryan and I had our six-year anniversary on August 4th! It was a wonderful three-day celebration since it landed on a Sunday this year. On the 3rd we got treated to dinner at PF Changs which was delicious! It's been years since we've been there and oh how I've missed it. Max joined us and was super antsy the whole time, but the waitress was really nice. We sat outside and just had a really pleasant evening together. I can't remember what we did on the 4th, but I'm sure it was nice. The 5th is the day we planned for. I had purchased a groupon for a place I had been wanting to try for years and years and years (like, six years), but the price and Bryan always kept me from being able to try it. We went to The Melting Pot and it was divine!!! We got a babysitter that night and just had such a relaxing two-hour dinner. Two hours!! We got the whole four-course meal and it's supposed to take a long time to eat, which is why you have to make a reservation. Bryan and I were apprehensive at first because the booths allowed to much privacy, the lights were dim, and the restaurant was quiet. This was fancy for us, by all means. Anyway, we had a wonderful time and can't wait for the opportunity to go back again.
1st course:  The cheese fondue was where we fell in love with this place and fondue (neither of us have ever had fondue before). We had the featured Quattro Formaggio Cheese Fondue.
2nd course:  Salad. No pictures. Just salad.
3rd course:  Entrees. I had duck, sirloin, pork, and pot stickers. Bryan had filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp. We were actually quite disappointed in this course. All the meats were marinated and we got the broth that was included in the price. It was good, just our least favorite course.
Our server was excellent and super sweet.
4th course:  Dessert! We got the flaming turtle chocolate fondue, which was chocolate and caramel topped with candied nuts. I could have died with every bite, it was the most heavenly thing I have ever tasted in my life.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND OF SIX YEARS!
